Next in line down the West Indies...

This time I tried adding more photos, for something different. No guarantee for the future, though;-)

Since many of you have been asking for photos, I've tried including them in the blog post. We'll see how it works!

Something I've kicked around for quite a while and finally got it organized. I'd be curious if any of it is applicable or if you think it might be. Responses here would be good or emails, or smoke signals... No, given the wildfires that are so prevalent now, that wouldn't be a good idea!

The last blog from Guadeloupe, then off to Antigua to store the boat for the summer/fall hurricane season. Just some things you might find entertaining. And the party raft-up just off my stern today is just as loud as the one I described from March! Like I said, they have to go home sometime ... and I'm already there ;-)

More of my thoughts. Sorry about the lousy photos, but as I noted, it's a challenge on a rocking boat--plus the photo aspects too. They're a long way away and not much light. I added an extra photo to try and give some impression about how unusual it felt to see those two just... out there, and big. Like so many things in life, I guess you have to be there to get it. Well, I tried ;-) Enjoy the downhill slide of more daylight from spring into summer!

We finally left Antigua, and I'm settled in Guadeloupe for a few months. Desiree needed to return home in the meantime and will be back in March. Then back to Antigua to haul the boat out at the end of April for the summer season. Here are some impressions so far of where I'm at.

So, this is what we've been doing since we launched Mariposa after she sat out the summer hurricane season--getting her ready to do some more fun stuff, down the island chain south. Guadeloupe and Dominica are next to be visited, starting in December. Desiree is now back in the US until December, attending to family and her homestead in Anacortes. We both can't wait until the jobs are done, but we agreed early on that we should do the upgrades and repairs now and enjoy them from the start, rather than piecemeal as we went along, as it usually happens--including with me. I can easily bear being stuck at the dock if it means great returns from the start! More later as we cruise along...
